F1 announces six Sprint race venues for 2024 season
Formula 1 has unveiled the six tracks that will host Sprint events during the 2024 FIA Formula One World Championship.
The Sprint format, introduced in 2021, features a short qualifying race on Saturday to determine the starting grid for the main Grand Prix on Sunday.
The six circuits selected for Sprint races in 2024 are:
- Chinese Grand Prix - April 21
- Miami Grand Prix - May 5
- Austrian Grand Prix - July 14
- Belgian Grand Prix - August 25
- Qatar Grand Prix - October 27
- Las Vegas Grand Prix - November 17
The Sprint race format has proven popular with fans, offering an additional element of excitement and unpredictability to the Formula 1 weekend. The races are typically shorter and more intense than the main Grand Prix, with drivers pushing harder to gain an advantage on the starting grid for Sunday's event.
The six Sprint races will be streamed live on Formula 1's official website and social media channels, as well as on select television broadcasters around the world.
